  • I remember this place being cooler when I was younger… Maybe it's because I was young then. They still have some pretty cool purses though that you can purchase here. Some items they sell here are still quite adult.
  • Interesting shirts but I didn't need a personal guide through the store. I was the only one in there so I guess you had to follow someone…
  • Great store! Good selection and good service. You may want to let your employees know that they should maybe watch what they are talking about though. Everybody likes a fun working environment, but I overheard conversations between them, and they weren't being discreet, being prejudice and talking down about what they were referring to as "normies"/normal people. Not that I would consider myself a "normie"😁, but I found it a bit rude, unkind, and definitely unprofessional. I'm sure corporate wouldn't be impressed.
  • I hesitantly write this review because it will embarrass me (again). I've been a customer at various Spencer's for years. I always enjoy a casual browse whenever I pass one of their stores. Sometimes I find cute things (like the Care Bears beanie I am wearing in my current profile pic). Today was a different story. Initially I went in search of a gift, but after not finding anything I wandered into the 'adult' section. I picked up a small flogger, lightly testing it on my (lower) fully covered leg. I can assure you, there was no inappropriate intent, just curiosity about the product's quality. I did not loudly smack myself or get frisky. Suddenly, I was scolded by an employee. Instead of a polite correction, I was met with a loud public reprimand. I understand retail can be challenging, & I truly sympathize with that. What disappointed me was the lack of tact & understanding displayed in this situation. While I comprehend the need for store rules, I felt unnecessarily humiliated. A simple, private conversation would have sufficed, instead she stood in a doorway several yards away from me (far enough she had to yell) with her arms folded. If I wasn't noticed before, the whole back of the store was now alerted (in all caps, but I'll spare you). "Please do not try merchandise out on yourself!" The other employees, on the other hand, were kind & helpful, reminding me of the service I used to associate with Spencer's. I share this experience not to bash the store but in hopes that it prompts a reconsideration of how customers are approached, especially in delicate situations like these. I'm assuming this person was a key holder or management of some type, so thought it was okay to yell. It was not okay to yell at me.
  • Stood staring at the jewelry case for over 10 minutes. 4 employees in the store. All of them ignored me. One was busy at the register, 2 were in the back building a display (I get it, but weird call on a Saturday). And the other one I have no clue what they were doing. Finally the employee at the register asked people who came in after me if they needed help with the jewelry, they said yes. I assumed they would help me too since I had been next to same case for a long time. I was wrong, the employee helped that person then it was back to acting like I didn’t exist. I took that as my sign to leave or that I was unwelcome.Luckily Hot Topic, Euphoria, and the kiosk downstairs all jumped at the opportunity to help me find body jewelry. Im sure it’s fine if you want to grab yourself a shirt and walk up the counter, but if you need to have locked up merchandise, you need to be proactive to helping people access it to buy it.
