• I’m giving two stars generously because I didn’t feel like taking an opportunity to look any further than what I went in for, originally. And here’s how that went. I was skating by(I’m 54, btw, and just got back into my teenage passion for pain), and was in need of something that’s not important to me storytelling, and thought there might be a chance I’d find it at Fantasy. I’ve never had occasions or reasons to venture inside, at least not while in the vicinity, but I’m well aware of myself, first off, and the type of retail establishment this is. An adult themed store. I judgements. I appreciate these stores because they do provide a convenience when you are looking for a number of things that spice up like. I’m preaching to the v C hour, right? So only slightly sweaty, and not really out of breath, I walked in. The door Ashley did its job and suddenly three sets of eyes are on me. Two young women and a rather beefy hairy young man. Right, let’s cut to the chase then. “By chance do you sell [none of your business] ?” And I was really surprised by the looks cast midway. And I received a very snarky “”No, we don’t carry anything like that here “ I kinda stuff for a few seconds wrapping my mind around what I was feeling. Which was suddenly very unwelcome in the store… another second or two cause sometimes people’s humor leaves much to be desired. Like my business, apparently. To be fair the girls seemed maybe like they would have it within their skills to treat customers decently and set aside personal opinions. I’d think that would be the most important trait of your employees, if this were your business, I mean, that’s not expecting anything extraordinary. Nor was what I requested. I don’t know if they include this category closely associated with what they are selling. I’ve been in many tighter strands to know when I’m not welcome, and I left. Finding my item not far at a grocery market. Where I sheepishly bought one and the young woman behind the counter was happy to sell it. I know you’re curious so I’ll leave you a clue. Its use fits a variety of other consumables, and not all illegal. And that’s all I will say to that. So well within my rights, and well within my own moral coloring lines, I shall never again find a reason to enter this business again. Should I have solid reason, I’ll go out of my way to bring my business to Fantasyland on se 52nd and Foster because I love everyone that works there. And they treat everyone with dignity.
• loyal customer here for years, just came in to get some more outfits and was shopping for 5 minutes and was followed around within like 5 feet the entire time and was asked 3 times if I’ve found everything okay. I understand it’s Portland but I showed ID when came in and was very respectful so don’t see the need to treat me like I’m about to steal. Also the selection is lacking compared to other stores in the area.
• I stopped in here with a friend just to check things out, and the staff was super friendly and nice to talk to, which was very comforting! The store is really well laid out and clean, and they carry a wide variety of stuff that appeals to plenty of people's interests. Gorgeous displays and pretty great prices. My friend and I didn't end up buying anything this time around, but he lives in Portland, so maybe he'll come back again soon. Definitely a great shop to go to, feels very safe and not backalley like some shops.
• Great selection of sexy wear. Including lots of choices for plus sized women. Knowledgeable staff. They even have a fitting room. Street parking only in spite of what Google maps says.
• Been to this store a number of times, always had a good experience. Yesterday I came in and a very angry person approached me and told me I could not come in with my “bike”. I said I had been in many times before and asked if I could place it next to the the door. They barked “NO” at me. I have spent a lot of money here and for this being a sex shop expected a less Karen-Esk vibe. Portland isn’t the place for super up tight energy. I’ll go spend my money elsewhere.
