  • This place is amazing! I was blown away by how many toys I hadn’t seen since my childhood in the ’80s. I completely forgot about “Silverhawks” — and now I can’t stop thinking about them! The owner, Mike, is like a walking encyclopedia of vintage toys. He’s friendly, incredibly knowledgeable, and shared some great stories about the rare and unique items that have passed through the shop. I had my kids with me, and when one of them asked about a figure from the loose bins, Mike just smiled and told him to “take it.” That kind of generosity really stuck with us. I also added a Green Arrow figure from the DC Super Powers line to my collection — one I’ve been hunting for a while. I can’t wait to come back and see what hidden gem I find next time. Whether you’re a serious collector or just feeling nostalgic, this store is a must-visit. Highly recommend!
  • This place is IT! Chicago is lucky for this gem. Could spend many joyous hours looking through abundant yet intentional and taken care of collections. Mike keeps the vibes welcoming and chill as you find what you are looking for (and a bunch of other toys along the way!!). AWEsome spot. -Adrien&Lancey
  • Throwback toys has the largest inventory of vintage toys I’ve seen, in the Chicagoland area, probably in the whole state!! You could spend hours looking through all the quality items this store has to offer. You’ll find something at all price points and it’s quality stuff. The inventory and selection still runs second to the amazing customer service. Mike, the owner, is a great guy. Very helpful and knowledgeable about his inventory. He’s constantly getting new items so it’s worth many returns visits. I’m sure you’ll find what you’re looking for at Throwback Toys.
  • Really good prices. Lots of vintage toys and collectibles to pick through. My favorite place to go for vintage toys. The owner Mike, was very helpful and informative. His shop has something for all ages and types of collectors. I’m sure you’ll find something you like and can afford at his great prices.
  • I went in to buy spare Lego parts for my kid hopefully at an affordable price and nearly got swindled out of sixty dollars. Man boasted about a yearly 250 thousand dollar income and talked about not being like scalpers, but wanted to charge me 60 for a bag of spare parts that came free with an Lego orders online, a 6 dollar Lego bag, and bag of legos that was not more than 4 x 4 inches, and boat that I found buried at the bottom of a huge bin of spare pieces that no one bothers to look in clearly. I don’t like leaving a store without buying something to help support a business, so I left paying 40, after the man said 45, and he took back the boat. FYI THE DAY BEFORE HIS SON WAS WORKING AND GAVE ME A WHOLE PLASTIC GROCERY BAG FOR FREE OF LEGO PIECES FROM THE SAME BIN. After, my older brother bought a toy for his nephew because I forgot my wallet. It’s fair to say I won’t be going back anytime soon. And god bless that son of his for knowing better.
