• My boyfriend and I were staying in a nearby hotel as we were traveling from a different state. We typically stop at adult shops for fun on our trips. Upon arrival the place looked great. Large, with a big selection. Clean and inviting. When we got in, there was 1 other couple there being helped. They left maybe 2 minutes later and we were alone. The woman working who I believe was Riley? Greeted us and asked if we needed help. We informed her that we were just browsing and not looking for anything in particular. She told us to let her know if we had any questions. There was literally maybe 30 seconds of silence before she began loudly info dumping about products, giving recommendations, and so on. My boyfriend informed her that I too am in the business, am certified in multiple sexual wellness categories and that we know what we generally go for. She began asking questions about who what where and when. Following us around to every section and again unsolicited advice, personal stories, brand information, personal favorites and dislikes and why. I literally couldn't pick up a single item without hearing about every type of toy the brand had, materials they were made out of, battery life, pros and cons etc. We were both so overwhelmed and frustrated. We turned our back to her multiple times to end the one sided conversations. We couldn't even discuss things between the two of us because she WOULDN'T STOP TALKING. Now I completely understand being passionate about your job, but also hearing about working on commission is tacky. Also constantly bashing previous customers on their choice of products against her advice, bashing past employees and talking about her personal sex life , husband and interests is unnecessary and again very tacky. We are both extremely patient and understanding people so for us to post a review like this says a lot. We got so frustrated and annoyed by this woman we decided to just cut the trip short and quickly make our way to the door where we once again we're trapped by this grabbing machine. Another 5 minutes of us doing the whole "okay thank you. " turning to walk away, hand on the door.. we were finally free. We literally had to stop in the parking lot to take a deep breath and gain composure. Now being from Minnesota, we are all to familiar with our "Minnesota goodbyes" that typically end with being followed or of the house and to the car with about 5 more goodbyes before leaving, but this made that look like childs play. We genuinely were interested in some of the things and probably would have made a few purchases but ultimately we couldn't get out of there fast enough.
